Tacoma Duplex with VA Loan- Walking into Equity
I began working with Aaron on January 13th. On February 27th we closed on a duplex in Tacoma. It probably would’ve been even faster had I not been using a VA loan. It only took a couple of weeks to find and get under contract on my property. I was looking to house hack a duplex and Aaron knew exactly what to look for. Being an investor himself, he knew the types of properties that would cash flow / be worth checking out, and didn’t waste time by sending me just any duplex on the market. He found a duplex in a great location that perfectly suited my needs. Then he helped negotiate the price so that I ended up walking into some equity at closing!

In February, I went to a real estate meet-up event in Lakewood looking to learn more about the area as a real-estate investment opportunity. At the event, I met Aaron Nelson, who had a lot of good information about the area. Within a couple weeks, I went down to meet Aaron and we drove around to look at some properties. I was impressed right away — Aaron had done a great job listening to what I was looking for. On that first day we found one I liked and I made my first offer!
Along the journey, there were several offers and lots of buyers to compete with. For every deal that didn’t work out, Aaron had another ready to look at – sometimes two! Finding deals in this market is tough and I really appreciated that Aaron managed to always have a good prospect in play.

Aaron was very thorough and professional, he took the time to understand what we thought we were looking for, and gave us some advice to help us really hone in, and better understand what makes sense for us. We ended up having a lot of difficulty with the transaction, due to problems with the lender. He was helpful in getting the lender to better communicate with us and the seller. Aaron was very patient throughout the process. The deal was on the verge of falling apart a few times, he did a great job by offering creative solutions to keep it together.
